Beta Testing Call

HSD:JY is ready to be put through its paces. Read on to find out how you can help!

FEEDBACK

The story is locked and loaded, buuuut there’s a few major things I’d like testers to keep an eye out for:

  1. Detail consistency - Did I say someone has blue eyes in one part, then say they have brown in another? Or something else equally confusing??
  2. Pacing - Again, the story and its progression is locked, but I’m open to hearing how the game flows for you and if the feedback is a specific enough and a reoccurring issue, I’ll take a closer look
  3.  Bugs, clipping, stuttering, crashes - Self-explanatory, but very important!! Tell me!!!
  4. Spelling and grammar - I have done the best I can but each time I pour over the code, I find new things I missed the first 3472634 times. Help.

HOW TO APPLY

Click here! Let me know which of the six routes you’d like to test (more than one is welcomed but I understand time is A Thing!) and the best way to contact you.

This game has a rating of 14+, and though I’d prefer that I have people of that age and older testing this game, I’m not going to police anyone. Just be honest with yourselves (this is a teen game, meaning the characters behave as such and if you feel you’re too mature for that, this might not be a great fit for you.)

If for any reason you’re accepted and you have to drop out for any reason, let me know! Life happens and I understand so I request you be understanding too and inform me as soon as possible!

I work best with deadlines, so I will leave this position open until May 31st 5:00 pm EST.

The testing period will be from June 4 to June 25 5:00 pm EST

And that’s it. Thank you everyone in advance!

Quick questions!

Firstly, how often would testers receive new builds to test?

Secondly, how long is each route on average? I’m trying to figure out how much time I can dedicate to this so estimated time would be nice to know.

Thirdly, is it all one client or separate downloads for each route since we can pick and choose what we want to test?

Thanks!

Hi there!

-This is a super, I do mean super informal (learning) process to me, so we're looking at anywhere between 2-3 builds max unless more are deemed necessary.

-In timing routes, I've found that if you're a fast reader and first time, ~2 hours, but ~3.5 hours is closer to projected gameplay time! I'd recommend focusing on the one route you're drawn too if you're interested in testing but can't dedicate much time to testing!

-And it's one client for ease and my sanity! (There's the friendship and romance split at the very beginning, and further on the game splits into the individual routes.)

Hope this helps!
